With a bevy of top-tier steakhouses in the valley, Top of the World isn’t worth the nonrefundable reservation fee. No word on if Franzia is exempt from this policy. $56 to enjoy some Yellow Tail at dinner seems a bit steep. They’re also not too keen on guests bringing their own wine, but they’ll allow it with a $50 corkage fee. Each person needs to order an entree or spend at least $55. If you plan to munch on something small to enjoy the ambiance, forget it.

So there’s no avoiding them if you want one of the coveted, rotating seats. I confirmed with a host at Top of the World that these fees are included even when making reservations over the phone. There is now a $25/person fee to sit at a window table.

Kristina and I celebrated a random Monday after a nice win at Top of the World at Strat. John Mehaffey of Vegas Advantage first mentioned this over a year ago: The Strat’s Top of the World restaurant, which I once lauded as a worthy spot for visitors looking for unique Vegas views, now charges reservation fees for its best seats.
